HOW JESUS CAN HEAL YOU

"Jesus went about preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people." (Matthew 9:35) "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil." (Acts 10:38) Sickness and disease are works of the devil. Jesus healed every sickness and disease, freeing people from Satan's oppression. Jesus wants you to be healed.

God healed people in the Old Testament as well as in the New Testament. In Exodus, the Lord is revealed as Jehovah Rapha, "I am the Lord that healeth thee." (Exodus 15:26) In Psalm 103:3, He is One "who healeth all thy diseases." Jesus Christ is "the same yesterday, today, and forever." (Hebrews 13:8) He will heal you!

Sickness came to man after the fall in the garden. Sickness is part of the curse because of sin. "But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5) Jesus not only took our sins on the cross, but also our sicknesses.

By Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, we are legally free from sin and sickness. "Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." (1 Peter 2:24) Healing now belongs to all believers. It is our legal right because of what Jesus has already done for us in redemption.

It Is God’s Will to Heal

Some may question if it is God's will to heal all. A leper once questioned His will, saying, "Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean." Jesus answered him, "I will; be thou clean." (Matthew 8:2–3) Jesus showed His will by healing the leper. It is God's will for you to be healed. Just as Jesus said to the centurion concerning his servant, "I will come and heal him," (Matthew 8:7) He says the same to you today: "I will come and heal you."

Authority Over Sickness

Since the devil causes sickness, we must take authority over the devil in order to be healed. Jesus has given us authority over Satan. "Behold, I give unto you authority... over all the power of the enemy." (Luke 10:19) The authority of Jesus is released when we speak in His name. At the gate of the temple, Peter said to the lame man, "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." (Acts 3:6) Peter testified, "His name through faith in His name hath made this man strong." (Acts 3:16) Jesus said, "These signs shall follow them that believe: in My name shall they cast out devils... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." (Mark 16:17–18) Healing is your legal right—possess it by taking authority in the name of Jesus.

Ways Healing Is Ministered

Healing is ministered in many ways. One way is by the laying on of hands: "They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." (Mark 16:18) Jesus touched the hand of Peter's wife's mother, and the fever left her. (Matthew 8:15) Paul laid his hands on the father of Publius and healed him. (Acts 28:8)

Healing is also released through anointing with oil. The twelve disciples "anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them." (Mark 6:13) Those that are sick are instructed to "call for the elders of the church and have them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith shall heal the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven." (James 5:14–15)

Healing is often manifested when demon spirits are cast out. "And He was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake." (Luke 11:14)

Breaking Generational Curses

Sometimes, the demon spirit of infirmity must be dealt with before healing can manifest. "And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years... Jesus said unto her, 'Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.' And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight and glorified God." (Luke 13:11–13)

Often, demon spirits of infirmity are in us as a result of inherited generational curses. "The iniquity of the fathers is visited upon the children unto the third and fourth generation." (Numbers 14:18) Because of ancestral sins, inherited curses enforced by demonic spirits of infirmity may be upon you. These curses must be broken and the demons cast out before healing can come forth.

Speaking and Praying the Word

Healing can also be received by speaking or praying the Word of God. "He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." (Psalm 107:20) "Speak the Word only, and my servant shall be healed." (Matthew 8:8) "When ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." (Mark 11:24) "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16) Act on the Word of God and take hold of healing power—God’s healing virtue will flow into your body.

Hold Fast to Your Healing

When receiving healing, results may come immediately or over time. Healing can be a process—“little by little.” Don’t allow yourself to waver; the healing will surely come. Keep taking hold of God’s power until the manifestation comes.

"And He took the blind man by the hand... and put His hands again upon his eyes and made him look up, and he was restored and saw every man clearly." (Mark 8:23–25) Jesus ministered healing until it was complete. Likewise, continue to pray and stand in faith until your healing is fully manifest.

Your Legal Right to Healing

Sickness is from the devil. Jesus is the Healer. By His stripes on the cross, your sickness was laid upon Him. Jesus bore your disease and redeemed you from Satan’s authority. Healing is your legal right as a Christian. By faith, you can take hold of it now.

Receive Healing Now

"As He was teaching, the power of the Lord was present to heal them." (Luke 5:17) As you read these words, the same power of the Lord is present to heal you! Jesus asked one man, "What do you want Me to do for you?" (Luke 18:41) What do you need from the Lord? Declare your need before Him, and take hold of His mercy by faith. Believe that His healing power is flowing into your body right now. "According to your faith, be it unto you." (Matthew 9:29) Jesus will never fail you. He will heal you as you take hold of His mercy.

Prayer of Faith for Healing

Heavenly Father, Your Word declares that Jesus took my infirmities and bore away my sicknesses, and that by His stripes I was healed. It is Your will to heal me, and it is my legal right to possess it. I take authority over all sickness and disease in my body in the name of the Lord Jesus. I break all inherited generational curses of infirmity, and I command spirits of infirmity to come out of me now in the name of Jesus. Sickness and disease, leave my body in the name of Jesus. I come boldly unto the throne of grace, and I take hold of Your healing power. I thank You that Your healing power is flowing into my body, healing me now! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

By praying this prayer, you have released your faith, and healing is now flowing into your body. Continue to thank God and speak His Word until the healing is completely manifested. Don’t waver or doubt—Jesus is faithful and will perform His Word!
